Pune city, also known as “The Oxford of the East” is well documented for its educational and cultural richness. Many professionals and students
across the country and around the globe have been attracted to Pune due to the well-known academic and research institutions in the vicinity.
The city has, therefore, seen an amalgamation of population of artists, educationists, scientists, professionals and students from every
corner of the country and world, which has vast geographical and so cio-cultural diversity.
It, therefore, requires efforts and actions to create
and maintain a sense of bonhomie among this diversified people to bring peace and harmony in the city. We believe, that knowing among each
other and appreciating each other’s strength and beauty can bring peace, harmony and integration among diversified people in the city and hence
to the nation. With this long felt need, Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND) Pune, chooses to present the rich socio-cultural heritage of its
home State, Manipur through a cultural program “THE BLUE HILLS - EXPLORE THE UNEXPLORED, A MANIPURI CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA”
with a motto of “LET THEM KNOW US AS WE KNOW THEM” under the agies of Dept. of Arts and Culture, Govt. of Manipur.
The program will be performed by professional artists from the home State, Manipur, who have been selected and nominated by the Govt. of
Manipur to represent the state in various national and international cultural exchange forums. AMAND Pune is proud to present Manipur’s rich cultural
heritage to the people of Pune on behalf of the Govt. of Manipur, Ministry of Arts and Culture.
AMAND Pune is a non-profit, non-government community organisation founded by Manipuri professionals residing in and around Pune. The Association aims at providing a
common platform of the Manipuris, irrespective of their caste, creed and religion, for propagating awareness on rights and issues related to social justice with a goal to enhance communal harmony and national integration through fair practices. The association was founded on in September 2011 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 at Pune, Maharashtra
