- Mother wishes crusader a happy married life
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, July 14:
Rights activists in Manipur are silent on the news of Irom Sharmila's wedding plans but her relatives here do not object to her decision to tie the knot with Desmond Coutinho, a British national, and wish her a happy married life.
Her elder brother Irom Singhajit Singh told The Telegraph today, "My sister informed my mother about her wedding plans over the phone through a contact a few days back. My mother talked to her for some time and wished her a successful and happy married life."
