Blending Chords : DU Music Album Launch; Hindu College
Date : October 1, 2017
The vocalist and main songwriter of the popular Rock/Pop/Alternative band 'Blending Chords' will be releasing his much anticipated solo album 'Live As One' this coming Sunday, i.e. 1st Oct, 2017 starting from 3:00 PM. The event will be jointly hosted by the artist's personal management team in collaboration with Hindu College's Northeast Cell.
The event is expected to be attended by 1500-2000 people making it one of the prime non political campus event in a long time and unlike divisive political events, this promises to be an event that instills hope and unity in humanity. The event will be graced by the Smt. Mercy Epao, Director, Ministry of DoNER as the Chief Guest and other prominent dignitaries who will take the stage in different capacities.
Being a highly sought-after artist both as a frontman of the band 'Blending Chords' as well as a solo artist, Awarthanga Chiru has travelled every nook and corner of Delhi since 2005 conveying his message through his songs and performances.
As an esteemed conductor, he is a popular conductor for winning choir groups at the prestigious Northeast Choral Competition on two occasions. He also performs regularly in popular bars and pubs like Hardrock Cafe, as well as headlining stadium and arena shows including the recently concluded 'Northeast Calling' event performing alongside stalwarts like Parikrama, John Oinam, etc.
Awarthanga Chiru is also a highly sought-after teacher in colleges across DU performing, teaching, judging events, and conducting workshops in colleges like Miranda House, Hindu College, Stephens College, IP College for Women, Daulat Ram College, Ramjas College and so on.
The current album, two years in the making, advocates the need for love, peace, unity, and harmony at a time when all the above are increasingly been suppressed in a number of ways, by various groups and individuals for a number of arbitrary yet sinister reasons.
Following on the footsteps of The Beatles, Lennon, CSNY, U2, The Scorpions,FUN, etc, the sound of the album is as varied and rich as its message. Like his songs with Blending Chords', the songwriting maintains a continuity with 'Woman's Worth', 'Fear Not', etc.

Bringing a message of peace, love, unity, and harmony, in a world that is increasingly divided on the basis of race, religion, caste, and nationality! This solo endeavour attempts to narrate an artistic consanguinity with extraordinary artists of the past and present, as when Lennon 'imagines' a world where humanity 'gives peace a chance'; when the four boys from Liverpool tell everyone that 'love is all we need', or when Klaus Meine screams with hope of 'new wind that smells of change' towards the turn of the century, or when Bono reiterates the necessity of being 'one in love'.
These are just a few of the greats whose message (and their relevance in today's world) that Awarthanga Chiru has, in his own way, aspired to re-emphasize through this project. Come and enjoy the evening with good food, good music, and good people all around!
