Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) launched 3rd phase for 6 North-eastern State
On 14th June, 2022, The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) has launched 3rd phase launched program for 6 North-eastern State in the main auditorium hall of Manipur Film Development Society (MFDS).
The Programme was graced by Shri Th Basanta Singh, Hon Minister of Education, Govt of Manipur as the Chief Guest, Shri L Nandakumar Singh, IAS, Director of Education (S) Manipur as Guest of Honour, Shri Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships, South Asia, Reckitt and Mr. Mohammed Asif, Executive Director, Plan India were the presidium members.
The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) programme led by Reckitt, the global leader in consumer healthcare marks its entry into year three by unveiling India’s first music album on growing up ‘Let’s Talk About it’. The music album was launched under the thought leadership of Reckitt and Plan India in collaboration with Department of Education (S), Government of Manipur.
In the same event different category of Awards like School, Teachers and students were given out are recognised based on their contribution to the programme and their performance.

Imphal, 14th June 2022: ‘The Birds and Bees Talk’ programme for children between the ages of 10-19 led by Reckitt, the global leader in consumer-healthcare and implemented by PLAN India marks its entry into three year in in 6 states of NE- Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal, Sikkim by unveiling India’s first music album on growing up ‘Let’s Talk About it’. The music album is launched under the thought leadership of Reckitt and Plan India in collaboration with Department of Education (S), Government of Manipur.
The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) programme is a comprehensive growing up, life skills education curriculum to help make children informed and empower them with critical information that promotes them to grow into responsible healthy adults. The holistic approach of the program envisages celebrating special days and important health days across the states leveraging its rich music, art and culture ensuring that knowledge is not limited till the restraints of physical classes. Under this curriculum, teachers from the enrolled schools will be appointed & equipped with full program essentials including teaching methods & lessons.

The unique design of the program comprises of 27-hour lessons allowing the schools to teach in a staggered format, spread over the year. The program will help children in developing key skills like critical thinking and analysis, and informed decision-making. The curriculum is divided in 14 key themes available in two levels: ages 10-14 and 15-19.
The 3rd phase launching program and release of India’s first music album on growing up "Let's Talk About It” on 14th June, 2022, the main auditorium hall of Manipur Film Development Society (MFDS), Palace Compound, Imphal was graced by Shri Th Basanta, Hon Minister of Education, Govt of Manipur as the Chief Guest, Shri L Nandakumar Singh, IAS, Director of Education Manipur as Guest of Honour and Shri Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships, South Asia, Reckitt and Mr. Mohammed Asif, Executive Director, Plan India were the presidium members respectively.
Mr. Mohammed Asif, Executive Director, Plan India in his welcome and keynote address stated “Plan India has been working for more than two decades to improve sexual and reproductive health services and rights for all children, adolescent girls and young women and men in different parts of India. In sync with the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) of the Government of India, we believe adolescents and young people must be enabled, equipped and empowered for their holistic development. They should be aware of their sexual and reproductive rights, make informed choices for themselves and lead healthy lives, free from violence, discrimination and abuse.

The music album was launched by of Th. Basanta Singh, Hon’ble Minister, Education, Law and Legislative Affairs, Government of Manipur in the presence of Shri L Nandakumar Singh, IAS, Director of Education (S) Manipur, Shri Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships, South Asia, Reckitt and Mr. Mohammed Asif, Executive Director, Plan India
While speaking at the launch event, Th. Basanta Singh, Hon’ble Minister, congratulated Reckitt and Plan India especially the “The Birds and Bees Talk” programme for sensitising adolescents and youth on topics like consent and reproduction which are considered taboo and are not discussed at home by their parents. Further talking about the role of music in education, he said,

The programme was attended by Additional Directors, Assistant Director - Directorate of Education (s) and ZEOs from Educations Department, District Youth Officer- NYKS Thoubal and Chandel, Principals, Nodal Teachers, Students and the awardee were present apart from local organisation/Clubs and volunteers from Red Ribbon Club, Modern College unit. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Komal Goswami, Chief of Party, Plan India
