Bid to find haven for ponies
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, July 26:
The rare Manipuri pony is literally on the streets. The presence of a large number of ponies on the city streets here in the past few weeks came up for discussion in the Assembly today, with the Opposition members expressing concern over the future of the rare horse breed.
The members have mentioned the ponies roaming on the city streets repeatedly during budget discussions. Opposition Congress member K. Ranjit raised the issue during question hour today, extracting an assurance from the government that it would take measures to evacuate the ponies to safer places.
