Assam Rifles helps Orphanage and Old Age Home
15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) provided assistance to Carmel Jyoti Orphanage, Luwangsangbam and also organised a visit and interaction programme at Government Old Age Home in Nongpok Kakching village on 14 Jan 2018.
Brig Amit Kabthiyal, SM Commander, 9 Sector Assam Rifles visited the orphanage alongwith the members from the society of Carmel Jyoti Orphanage on 15 Jan 2018. A total of 63 children along with the members of the orphanage were present during the visit. The event started with a welcome song performed by the kids of the orphanage.
50 Plastic chairs, 45 plastic stools, 6 plastic dustbin of 50ltr each and 8 4-seater plastic tables were handed over to the orphanage. 3 refrigerators, 3 washing machines and a 50 ltr R.O were also provided by the Assam Rfiles.
The members of society of Carmel Jyoti Orphanage appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles to provide assistance to the orphanage in meeting the needs of the children and also making their stay comfortable. The orphanage expressed their gratitude in taking such a positive approach and coming forward to help the needy. In the end, refreshments were provided to all.

The interaction at the Government Old Age Home was also attended by Mira Paibi, President of the Village Council and President of the Youth Club along with personnel of Assam Rfiles. Various issues like village development and difficulties faced by them were discussed at length. A total of 25 members were present in the event and the interaction was followed by lunch.
All the member who attended the meet conveyed their appreciation and gratitude to 15 Assam Rifles for organising such a interaction programme showing concern about the local population.
