Assam Rifles gift utility items to Mongtikang Village Council

As part of Assam Rifles civic action programme, troops of 31 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 7 Sector AR donated one 500 ltr water tank, twenty plastic chairs and a Shamiana to Mongtikang village council in Longleng district. The items were required by the village council to be used during various functions and meetings held in the village.

Mr. Y Mongko Phom, Chairman and Mr Angdeng Phom, GB of the village conveyed their sincere gratitude to Assam Rifles for this noble gesture and requested for more such help in future. They also appreciated the sincere effort undertaken by Assam Rifles in reaching out to the population living in remote villages of Nagaland true to the motto of “Friends of the Hill People”.

ASSAM RIFLES APPREHEND 02 FGN CADRES AT TAMLU

On Jul 26, 2013 Troops of 31 Assam Rifles apprehended two FGN Civil Wing cadres near Tamlu town. The cadres have been identified as Yimshau Phom, resident of Buranamsang, Longleng district and Manpa Phom, resident of Naginimora, Mon district.

Yimshau Phom a Leacy and Manpa Phom a Rajapeyu have been active with FGN from a long time, One 9mm Pistol, one 7.65mm Pistol, 6 live rounds and a booklet containing demand notes for extortion were found on them. The apprehension of these two cadres has been appreciated by local populace as the same will help in curbing the increased extortion activities by various factions in Tamlu area.

ASSAM RIFLES APPREHENDS NSCN (KK) CADRE FROM CHUMUKEDIMA

37 Assam Rifles under HQ 6 Sector Assam Rifles/ HQ IGAR (N) based on specific input apprehended one NSCN (KK) cadre, namely Kelechutuo Doze, aged 35 yrs, Rajapeyu of NSCN (KK) while he was extorting money from local shopkeepers at Chumukedima market.

One point 22 Pistol, one magazine, five live rounds of point 22 and Rs. 350/- in cash were recovered from the individual. The cadre was handed over to the Diphupar Police Station. The locals of the town expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for providing them relief from unabated extortion by the undergrounds.

29 ASSAM RIFLES APPREHENDS DNLF CADRE

Based on a specific input about the movement of a DNLF (Dimasa National Libration Front) cadre, troops of 29 Assam Rifles tracked and intercepted the individual on Kalibari road, West Yard Colony, Dimapur.

One 7.65mm Pistol with two magazines and 20 live rounds of 7.65mm caliber were recovered on him, he was later handed over to the Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur.
