Appeal to our beloved brothers and sisters around the world

Ever since the Chahi Taret Khuntakpa, the devastation inflicted upon us by the Awaa (Burma) between 1819 and 1826, the Meeteis have not experienced such widespread destruction and devastation. This crisis resulted in the loss of numerous precious lives and the displacement of thousands of families, particularly in Churachandpur, Moreh, Kangpokpi, and the adjacent surrounding areas along the hills. The attack came upon us so sudden that none of us could have anticipated our own homes and lives being targeted in such an unforeseen manner.
The futures of thousands of youths have been shattered by the attack launched by the Chinkuki militants. Consequently, Manipur has found itself in a mire.
It has been six months, and the direction of our path remains uncertain. This is the harsh reality we face today.
Therefore, keeping in mind what is happening in Manipur the World Meetei Council appeals to all the Meetei people living in India and across the world to show solidarity with our brothers and sisters who have become victims of this unjust war in Manipur by not celebrating this year's 'Ningol Chakouba' to mark our unstinted support and solidarity with the families of the martyred sons and daughters and the thousands who are made homeless in our own homeland!
God bless Manipur!
