Acute water scarcity hit Imphal city
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Mar 30
With the mercury soaring and water sources drying up, Imphal city and its outskirts are heading for a severe drinking water shortage. The problem is getting worse as water levels in the main sources, Singda Dam and rivers passing through the city are falling rapidly.
There is an acute shortage of drinking water for residents of Imphal city, admitted officials of the state Public Health Engineering Department.
“We are facing severe water shortage as supply from water supply schemes in and around the Imphal city were very irregular these days. Water supply through tankers was also cut down due to the high demand,” said Sobita Devi, a resident of Imphal city.
