A private hospital inaugurated at Lilong

A private hospital and research institute, named Noor Hospital and Research Institute, was inaugurated at Lilong, opposite Lilong Police Station, on Oct. 26, 2014. Lok Sabha MP from Assam, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal and General Secretary of Jamiat-ul-Ulema-i-Hind, the largest body of the ulema (religious scholars) in the country, Maulana Mahmood Madani inaugurated the hospital.
The inauguration function was attended by Amir-e-Tabligh Jamat, Manipur Maulana Abdul Aziz, Zilla Parishad Member (Thoubal), Maulana Abdus Salam, eminent physician Dr. Syed Burhanuddin and President of Jamiat-ul-Ulema (Manipur unit) Maulana Sayyid Ahmed as dias member. Large number of people from the localities of Lilong also attended the function.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Ajmal said the hospital and the research institute would be an asset for the people of the State. It would help in enhancing Muslims’ access to health care facilities in the State. In his speech, Maulana Madani expressed hope that the institute would help in providing advanced health care facilities to the people in and around Thoubal district.

A free-medical camp was also organized at the hospital on the inauguration day, which was opened by Minister (Agriculture and Fisheries) Md. Abdul Nasir. People in large number gathered to avail the free-health check-up. Free medicines were provided.
Later in the evening, Maulana Ajmal and Maulana Madani delivered religious lectures at Jame Masjid at Lilong Bazar, which was attended by large number of madrasa students (talbas) and graduates (alims).
On Oct. 27 and 28, Maulana Ajmal visited some of the important mosques, madrasas and yatim khanas (orphan homes) in the State including Darul Uloom at Lilong, and met prominent Muslim leaders.
