A call to stop the unrest and bring normalcy in Manipur

Hijam Somarendro Singh *

In the real sense, the present unrest in Manipur is not a communal violence. It is a war waged by the Kukis on the Meiteis in retaliation to the activities of the Government of Manipur namely;

(1) War on drugs, destroying poppy cultivation in the Kuki dominated hill areas, spoiling about Rs 50 thousand crore which was expected to be earned this year out of the business of poppy cultivation for the manufacture of heroine powder.

(2) Eviction of unauthorized Kuki occupants from the forest lands (protected forest and reserved forest areas)

(3) Announcement of base year as 1961 for the implementation of National Register of Citizenship (NRC ), that is onlyt those people who migrated to Manipur before 1961 will be allowed to be an Indian citizen in the State of Manipur whereas those people who migrated to Manipur after 1961 will not be allowed to be a citizen of India in the State of Manipur.

The Kukis waged war against the Meitei community vandalizing the houses and killing the Meiteis , torturing the Meitei women and children with rape and molestation. Kukis fully destroyed the Meitei settlements at Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Moreh and other 19 villages situated in Kuki dominated areas.

(4) The war waged by the Kukis against the Meiteis is a fully pre–planned strategy following immediately a gathering of Chin-Kuki-Zo community on 3rd May 2023 under the prext of strongly objecting any move for the inclusion of Meiteis in the list of Scheduled Tribe of India.

(5) And also to integrate Chin-Kuki-Zo community demanding Kuki land from India , Myanmar etc.

These five are the main factors for such inhumane activities (waging war) against Meiteis, the indigenous people of Manipur.

The Kukis waged war against the Meiteis just to show their might threatening
(1) Meiteis, main indigenous people of Manipur
(2) Government of India and
(3) Government of Manipur as a whole.

It is not a communal issue of two communities (Meiteis and Kukis) only, not an issue of religion (Hinduism and Christianity), not a State issue but a serious National issue of Narco Terrorism of Chin-Kuki immigrants waging war against India with a demand of land from India, Myanmar etc to form a separate Kukiland.

Jai Shri Ram. The Great victory of Lord Shri Ram over Ravana is the sign of victory of truth and sincerity over the evils. One day every body in the world will have the full knowledge that Meiteis are the indigenous people of Kangleipak (Meitei Land-22347 square kilometers area) now this Manipur as vividly seen in the history of the last more than two thousand years of Kangleipak (Manipur).

Meitei kings and our Meitei forefathers sacrificed their lives for the protection of the boundary of Kangleipak maintaining the prestige and integrity of the land with a great mercy to the Khongsais (Kukis) and all other 35 tribes including Meitei tribe (communities ) living in kangleipak now Manipur.

It is the greatest need of the hour that our Vishwaguru Modiji being the Prime Minister of India be made convenient to intervene immediately to stop the war waged by the Kukis against the Meiteis. The merciless war of the Kukis waged against the Meiteis, is a war waged against the Government of India, Government of Manipur as a whole.

Immediate intervention of the Government of lndia with full sincere duty of Indian forces and related people can stop the war waged by the Kukis against the Meiteis, main indigenous people of Manipur which is a State of India bordering the Myanmar country having a military Government with a long time serious unrest due to narco terrorism and other political issues.

It is the most important duty of all politicians, social workers, socio-political activists, political party members irrespective of leader or not to perform their respective duties. The first and foremost thing is to understand the pros and cons of exercising freedom of expression but should not be misused knowingly or unknowingly only for momentary political gain or any vested interest which may lead to spoiling Meitei community.

Politicians irrespective of ruling party or not, should try their best to make their related Central leaders of their respective party understand in detail that the Kukis waged war against Meiteis for their vested interest of main five factors as stated in this letter to my Meiteis brothers sisters and all related people of the world.

We should not waste time in criticizing other party members. All the Meiteis are having the same sense of humanity, dignity and integrity maintaining respect to elders and younger ones.

In any case we should not compromise knowingly or unknowingly our integrity and dignity for any petty momentary gain (Political gain or any form of gain).

Jai Ima Manipur, Jai Hind, Jai Shri Ram, Manipur Ima na Yaiphare.

(Meitei Land -----any community irrespective of small or big who is having the sense of belongingness to Manipur and having the sense of protecting the boundary of Manipur-22347 square kilometers area are the main people of Meitei Land, Manipur. All these communities should be united to protect the boundary and integrity of Manipur).

Manipur—Meitei Land Kaiba yaroi. Manipur Kaiba haibasi lndia Kaibani. Kuki na Meitei mayam hatpa haibasi Indian mayam hatpani.

Immediate strong sincere action of India Government will be the one and only way to stop the war waged by the Kukis against the indigenous people of Manipur threatening Meiteis, Government of Manipur, Government of India as a whole .

It is a serious National issue of waging war against India, demanding land from India by the immigrants Kukis and a few Kukis of Manipur to form a separate Kukiland. Let everyone awake to the danger lurking ahead.
