A Homage to Stephen Hawking

A man can be destroyed but not defeated. - Hemingway
The psycho-physical parallelism
Is broken, is broken ...
Outside it is an increasingly useless body
Confined to a wheelchair,
Inside the razor-sharp mind
Roams over the cosmos.
The fall of the apple from the tree
And the birth of the scientific temper
With Newton in the 17th century,
Man has been moving towards a reality
Where nothing is left to God's will.
These days
The apple never falls far from the tree.
This is what education is
This is what civilization is.
After sleeping like a log
We wake to a wonderful universe
In the morning
And ask why it is as it is
And why it exists at all.
Will life on Earth come to an end
Through nuclear war?
The ever expanding universe!
Its birth, structure, growth and death?
What is the fate of the universe?
Good question!
