AFSPA extended in Arunachal

The ministry of home affairs, which was contemplating to review the utility of Armed Forces (Special Power) Act, 1958 (AFSPA), has extended disturbed area tag on three districts of Arunachal Pradesh for another six months.
The MHA .. justifies the necessity of extending AFSPA, pointing out that the factions NSCN continue to indulge in inter-factional clashes. Apart from Naga rebel groups, Ulfa and certain Manipur based underground outfits continue to use these districts for their movement to their camps in Myanmar.
