ACAUT urges PM Modi to act on Naga solution

CAUT said it was not against any ongoing peace talks but that in order to bring about a permanent solution and resolve the 67-year old conflict, it demanded that the prime minister consider the consequences of settlement minus “One Government One Tax” in the absence of unity among NPGs. It maintained that the onus of salvaging unity among NPGs should be placed squarely on the shoulders of the NSCN(I-M), the dominant faction spearheading the current negotiation.
ACAUT has demanded that the prime minister take into confidence all stake holders, notably the Naga village councils, since people would invariably be affected once settlement was arrived at. It cautioned against a settlement that would spawn “post-settlement conflict” as viewed by Naga civil society
