The Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND), Pune organized its 8th AGM cum Annual Cultural Program with the theme “Hingminashi Eikhoi” on Sunday, the 6th Oct 2019 at the Symbiosis Institute Management Studies (SIMS) Auditorium, Range Hills, Pune.
Prof K S Venkataraghavan, Principal, Nowrojee Wadia College, Pune inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest, in presence of Prof Shirish Sahasrabudhe, Dierctor, ELTIS-SIFIL and SICEC, Pune as Guest of Honour and Padma Shree Mrs L Bombayla Devi as the Special Guest.
The gathering was welcomed by Dr M Niraj Luwang, Gen Secy, AMAND, Pune. The second issue of AMAND e-Newsletter “Paothang” was released by the dignitaries.

In his address, Prof Venkataraghavan expressed his appreciation to see such a warm response by all. He expressed his support for all the students from the State coming to get their higher studies at his college.
He also shared his happiness to see many of his students (ex-wadian) from Manipur doing good jobs at various places. Prof Shirish proposed to open an educational counselling centre in collaboration with AMAND, Pune which will help many students coming for further studies in Pune.
Padma Shree L Bombayla Devi expressed her excitement in seeing the large number of Manipuri families in Pune and felt proud to be part of the program. She further expressed that students should work hard to achieve their dreams despite of all the obstacles in life.

Dr Huidrom Narendra Singh, President, AMAND, Pune gave the presidential speech. He mentioned that without the support of all the members, ladies Club Executives, MSAP students, invitees from other cities near Pune, the program might not have been successful.
The AMAND Motivational Award and AMAND Young Achiever Award, were distributed to all the deserving students. The second "Late N. Albert Memorial Award for Academic Excellence 2019" was awarded to Mr Tayenjam Sanathoi Singh for scoring the highest mark in graduation for all streams.
The event was organized with support from many leading firms like M/s. Filfab Corporation (SMD), Navi Mumbai; M/s. 3CIT Solutions & Telecom India Pvt Ltd, Pune; M/s HRB Finances, Imphal; Mrs Banita Naorem, IRS, ndc and M/s Bhubon & Leiren Brick Field, Kakching. Mr Pritam Konsam, Jt Secy, AMAND proposed the vote of thanks to the gathered audience.
The formal program was followed by the Annual Cultural Program “Hingminashi Eikhoi” with the opening song “Hingminashi Eikhoi”.

A series of eye-catching performance were performed by the Manipuri families living in Pune. Students of the ASHA (AMAND Shiksha Abhiyan) program from Golwalkar Guruji English Medium School, Aundh performed a traditional Marathi dance which was applauses by the audience.
Other highlight of the event was the Kanglei Seitha Jagoi, Kabui Dance, Moirang Kangleirolgi Tangkak Ama, a dance drama and a fashion show with traditional attire, “Enatki Phijol Leiteng”, along with a series of solo dance and songs.
Despite of staying far away from home(Manipur), an event comprising various communities of Manipur itself indicated the desire and willingness of the people toward the program theme “Hingminashi EIkhoi – Let us live together” The AMAND Talent Hunt was also the main attraction of the program.
The theme award was handed over to the winner, Dr H Narendra Singh. Certificates were distributed to all the new members. The cultural program was followed by 8th AGM of AMAND.

The members unanimously approved the minutes of 7th AGM. Dr Narendra presides over the program along with Gen Secy report and Treasurer Report by Dr MN Luwang and Mr Laishram Rishikanta Meitei, respectively.
New programs were suggested along with the Calendar Program for the next year and approved by all. The gathering was concluded with a dinner of various Manipruri delicacies hosted by AMAND for all. Around 280 people including well-wishers from other communities, and Manipuri families from Mumbai attended the function.
The cultural program was appreciated with huge applause by all. AMAND Pune acknowledges the program coordinator Mr Maniram Ksh and Mr Amarjit Thounaojam for successfully implementing the program.
Kind appreciation also goes to Annual Cultural Program PICs Mr Santosh and Mr Somorjit.
