80 pc of fruits in Manipur end up rotting

Nearly 80 per cent of fruits produced in Manipur end up rotting every year, but these fruits can be changed into a money-spinning business if they are preserved and processed, National Mission for Food Processing (NMFP) Manipur chapter Deputy Director Ch Joykumar said.
Joykumar said this while participating in a two-day seminar on “Food Preservation & Processing” organised by UMA Foundation at Heingang Makha Leikai community hall here.
