7th North-East Students Annual Games and Sports Meet at Jalandhar on 12 of November 2019
North-East Students’ Organization Jalandhar (NESOJ), Punjab successfully organized the 7th Edition of its Annual Games and Sports Meet which concluded on 12 of November 2019. This event was organized with a sole motive to foster unity, understanding and rapport among the students of North-East India studying in Punjab.
Like every year, the event witnessed active dedications and participation from the students of all the eight North-East Indian states.
The Chief Guest of the grand closing ceremony was Smt. Soso Shaiza, Member, National Commission for Women (NCW), Government of India

Addressing the enormous gathering of enthusiastic youths from the North-East of India, Smt. Shaiza delivered an encouraging pool of words, praised the pioneers of NESOJ as well as congratulated the NESOJ team for pulling it up together with the respective state clubs and unions.
She also urged the students not only to excel in sports but also to concentrate on their academics as well.
Mr Rinlungso Zas, President, NESOJ commenced the event by thanking the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dignitaries, Representatives of the Sports Committee, members of NESOJ and the Sponsors in being a part of the events, which aim to promote and explore the sports culture by building unity among the 8 states of Northeast India with the motto of Strong Northeast, Stronger India.

Also Mr Risso Apataya, Convenor, Sports Committee, NESOJ added “It has been an immense pleasure to be a part of this grand event which brought healthy competition, also giving a podium to every northeastern in Phagwara and Jalandhar to compete and explore their hidden talents and moulding a final product of unity, brotherhood and more understanding among all”
In this tough yet beautiful meet, the Abotani SC representing the state of Arunachal Pradesh was awarded the title of the ‘Overall Champions’ while the Best Athlete Male and Best Athlete Female award went to Lalrozama Ralte and Tovikali K Chophy from the state of Mizoram and Nagaland respectively.
The event was sponsored by Pilot Sports, Jalandhar and co-sponsored by Metsuben Wedding Planner, Dimapur and Tsukhru Design, Kohima. Also supported by Club Twenty.
