A 5.1 magnitude earthquake, which had its epicentre in Indo-Myanmar border area, was felt in Nagaland and other parts of the region Wednesday evening. The mild quake, which was felt for over than 4 seconds, occurred at around 7.16 p.m.
According to U.S. Geological Survey, the tremor struck 54km west northwest of Mawlaik (Myanmar), 57km south-southeast of Churachandpur (India) and 198 km south of Kohima at a depth of 61.6km with latitude 23.895° north and longitude N 93.964° east.
