52nd Raising Day of Naga Regiment
The Ex Servicemen of Naga Regiment of Senapati and Kangpokpi district of Manipur celebrated its 52nd Raising Day on 01st November 22 at Puni Pfosemai village, Dist Senapati. Naga Regimental Day is celebrated on the occasion of raising of the first battalion of the Naga Regiment on 01 November 1970 at Kumaon Regimental Centre at Ranikhet.
On this occasion, Lt Gen RC Tiwari, AVSM, SM, GOC Spear Corps, addressed the gathering and complimented them for their sterling role in nation building and the contribution of the Regiment during 1971 war, Operation VIJAY and maintenance of internal security. The Corps Commander paid tributes to the martyrs and remembered them for their ultimate sacrifices for the sovereignty and integrity of the nation. He said that the Naga Regiment has a rich history and saga of valour & bravery.
He expressed Indian Army's solidarity and commitment with veterans and assured that the Army is sensitive to their needs and would take every step to ensure that the ex-servicemen, veer naris and their families are looked after well. He also reiterated the Army's goal of providing quality healthcare, dignity and problem resolution at all times.
