34 companies flouted environmental norms in NE: Govt
Seven Sisters Post | PTI | New Delhi (May 15):
State-run Oil India and ONGC are among the 34 companies that have flouted environmental norms during last three years in the north-eastern region, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Tuesday.
Most of the offences were committed in Assam, while there are instances of flouting norms in other states like Tripura, Meghalaya and Sikkim, environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan said during the Question Hour.
