30000 students appear for HSLC in Manipur
Times of India | TNN | Feb 26, 2012, 10.30AM IST
The annual High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur ( BSEM) began on Friday with the Social Science paper. Over 30,000 students appeared for the exam on the first day in 90 exam centres, spread over the state.
However, the board barred 7,000 students from 28 schools from appearing for the examination in the hill centres, a few days before the commencement of the exam, as they did not fulfill the guidelines for the exam properly.
Zeliangrong Youth Front ( Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) sent its wishes to all the students appearing for both HSLC and higher secondary examinations. "Let the spirit of competition rise but do not resort to cheating to pass the exam," a statement of the front signed by its president, Titus Kamei said.
