1 NSCN (K) cadre killed in clash near Ahthibung
Nagaland Post | February 25, 2012
Just on the eve of the Naga Reconciliation meet in Dimapur on February 29 where NSCN (K), which was excluded from earlier meetings, had expressed support and commitment to attend, one NSCN (K) cadre identified as “private” Gairalung Zeliang of Nagasin village, Tamenglong district was killed Friday in a factional clash with rival GPRN/NSCN cadres between Bongkolong village and Piellhang village.
Talking to this Reporter, Wangtin Naga, Supervisor of the NSCN (K) Cease-fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) said the incident took place while the NSCN (K) cadres were returning back to their respective camp as directed and in response to the appeal of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FRN) to NSCN (K) and GPRN/NSCN to “cease all armed confrontation”.
Asserting the NSCN (K) was peace loving, Wangtin demanded that the GPRN/NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) “publicly clarify” its stand on whether they were for “peace or war”. He claimed that the NSCN (K) cadres were ambushed while they were returning back to Ahthibung designated camp, by rival GPRN/NSCN cadres
