'14th Nagaland Assembly will take place with or without Naga issue solution'

Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Co-Chairman of UDA and Leader of NPF Legislature Party today asserted that election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will take place with or without solution to the Naga Political issue. He is imminent that State General Election will conducted in Nagaland sooner or later by explaining that if Solution comes early then election may delay and if solution has not arrived then it will held at its usual timing. The NPF leader said this during the 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency office bearers’ consultative meeting at Pfutsero Tourist Lodge.
Azo Nienu termed that Nagas cannot go on without arriving solution to the vexed Naga political issue and maintained that NPF does not support any Naga political group but at the same support all the groups equally and the main resolution of the NPF party on Naga Political issue is to arrive that has honourable, acceptable and inclusive, he added.
He also reiterated that the regional NPF party was given birth because of the Naga political issue and therefore, the party does not belong to any individual or leader but belongs to the whole Naga people. He also stated that NPF, which represents the Naga identity, is deeply rooted to the Naga people unlike the BJP, which may have deep root in India but not in Nagaland and NDPP, which is only about 5 years old.
He also rejected that many rumours and news circulating in medias that with the defection of the 21 NPF MLAs, the NPF set up has weaken but in reality the story is totally contrast as the grass-root NPF is very much intact.
The Co-Chairman also maintained that NPF is not a party to merge with any other political parties but any other political parties can merge with the NPF, stating that NPF belongs to the Naga people and it have no ownership.
Terming the defection of 21 MLAs, the NPF leader said that the defected MLAs were not leaders but they were followers and expressed his surprised over the drastic changes that took place after the defection of 21 MLAs that the party leaders and workers were now more faithful and stronger.
Azo Nienu also regretted that when the defected 21 MLAs were in NPF, their position for the coming election is more secured but after they abandoned the party, many of them is very doubtful to return. The NPF leader also asserted that NPF will form the next Government or it will be the king maker in forming the next Government.
The MLA of 17th Chizami AC, Kezhienyi Khalo who is also the DPDB Chairman of Phek district in his speech expressed his confident that Naga people loved for NPF party has its deep root and so believed that the Naga grass-root love for the NPF party will emerge the NPF into forming the next Government.
The MLA also expressed his optimism that even if the NPF party was reduced to only 4 MLAs, seeing the Naga people movement and love for the NPF party is beyond encouraging. MLA K. Khalo while congratulating the new office bearers of the Chizami AC has expressed the hope that under their leadership, NPF will win in Chizami in the coming election.
The NPF Secretary General, Achumbemo Kikon in his speech has said that NPF has stood for the Naga people in the past and in future also, the party will stand strong and work for the Naga people. Achumbemo also maintained that because of the unfinished task to the Naga political issue, NPF was given birth in 1960’s and asserts that NPF will still stand for it.
NPF Central General Secretary, Akho Leyri who also spoke on the occasion has stated that many has viewed with the defection of 21 MLAs, the next General election will be like a bye-election but said that all the 60 seats will go for poll to choose for new leaders. He also expressed his optimism that NPF will form the next Government. Short speeches were also delivered by the new 17th Chizami AC President, Veli Medeo and CEC Member, P Paul.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Welhipe Chiero, Working President of 17th Chizami AC, invocation prayer by Rev. Dr. N Chiero, Senior pastor PTBC while welcome address was delivered by Supoyi Vezhu, Working President, Central Youth Wing and vote of thanks was pronounced by Wenyilo Venuh, General Secretary, 17th Chizami AC.
