'Life, like all other games, becomes fun when one realises that it's just a game'
- Nerijus Stasiulis.

The Melee's quest for the culmination of the recently held Asembly election is over. It ends well with clear adjudication. As some knock themselves out, other just failed to drudge to that length-lady luck missing a smile on them. Because some get a kick from cold, some fancy hot. So they reap what they sow. Some low in desolation-as groggy as a boxer punched out in the first round, while other high in revelry. Or should we comprehend it as a foregone conclusion. The difference, after all their rout, is that the one is in, the other out.

Though the ruckus that surrounds the ambience of election was unraveled, an Operative, in anonymity who tailed on the horizon the whole doings, however, contrived to maintained his records. Notwithstanding the manifold barriers which flare up in an endeavor to communicate the findings which he scribbles, I, along with my branches(tribesmen) have a tough time, transcripting the report with my(our) modicum language. For which I am to eat a humble pie.

It preluded with the expression of apprehension whether it failed to scintillate the readers. A line which forewarned thet- it is with malice to none and with no intention to harm anybody- finds a special mention in eye-catching bold type. Adding, the report was importantly, maintained with no-holds-barred. It also dedicated the whole reports for the johnies come lately. Itwent on to sift the mosaic events thus:

Miscontrued Critics: As befitting a manner as a Champion's final, it all began in a frenzied note. That it was another election in which all sections of the electorates- from the scions to the riff-raff, had a hand in passionately or at the least so-so.Since it witnessed a tough fight between contenders at almost all ACs, the frenetic pitch, more often than not, reach the crescendo which can best be explained when some institutions observed undeclared holiday, maintain the observer. As the result suggest, it was also an election which proof many seasoned critics(read local media) wrong. And likewise, many hopes and aspirations were dashed to dust.

Faux Pas: That the mistake comes in the person of the chief minister. When Ibobi's action of doling out a largesse appeared in a paper just as campaigning begin, he was landed to unnecessary hubbub of ECI's axiomatic code of conduct. The observer, with no embellishment pass the buck to the CM straightaway. Equally the upbraid should be shared with his liaison officer, maintain the accounts. For, it was he who should be held accountable for the movement of paparazzi. Journalistic-ally, the snapshoter deserved a kind, Manipuri version of Pulitzer for best Photography.(PS- let it be a lesson learnt outside a bungalow]

The Godfather: If you think it is only the divine power which could flurried a blessing, you need to think twice,if not thrice or more. The UNC present themselves to the fore as a virtuoso in the just concluded general election. They played their part of the game as stout as they could, even to the spree of godparenting a candidate who they deemed, fits their bill. Lo and behold, they, in return, would be godfathered by six MLAs! A feat worthy of solemnizing with all the jamboree. How the UNC take their next move is a keen observation people made with eye open wide and mouth agape.

Two in One: Twin...nope. Siamese...fib. But it was two seats represented by one soul. He is a leader who shows the way and shows the world that he is simply unputdowable. When Ibobi was elected with the mandate to be the CM in two constituencies, people (some in disbelief and the other half reluctantly) buzz in unision though, that he was such a notable big gun who could not be nitpick simply despite his failures.

A rare feat: Undoubtedly, Md Alauddin Khan from Keirao AC is an MLA, Th Shyamkumar from Andro is an MLA too. K.Panmei from Tamenglong is neither not also-rans MLA. The three and Ibobi's success stories would be extirpable achievement which will went down in the annals of election history in the state.

The Unfeigned Heroes: If there is a deed worth immortalizing, there's no reason of losing in rumage over the best hero to worship. The 3 CRPF & 16 IRB men who sacrifices for their services were wothy of idolizing. May their humble souls rest in peace. When a day of reckoning dawned, I doubt, they 'd be erased in our memoirs! They, at the best, deserves fitting tributes in words and deeds. For they, unfeigned and unfailed, responds the call of their duties unto death.

Forlorn Site, Never Before: For a record in the romance hiostory the year in passing set and witnessed unbelievable benchmark when the one-time paradise of love-birds was turned into No Man Land. The site as famous 'War Cemetary' which was once flocked by numerous and colourful pairs of lovers, movement of huddled lovers hiking hand in hand with a low-level chit-chat was in no existence, atleast for a day. It remained only as a mythological tale. The surprising package was unfolded when the day in question coincides with the much awaited and much celebrated V-day.That was a day when all young hearts betrayed themselves and make a long queue under cold and rain to elect their representatives. The only visible thing on that day was the ever lonely tombstones which withstood all weather and showers, accounts an eye-witness close to this source.

Picture of the Week: .......Not the picture of Ibobi in winning mood. ....Never the pix of Abhiaish duo appearing in public to announce their wedding. Neither the pix of probable Indian cricket squad for the World Cup. But all your phlegm of doubt would be cleared, if you dare to asked the octogenarian Khelchandra Singh whether he (un)intentionally tottered the president Kalam to ground! When a national daily carried in its front page that of the president APJ Abdul Kalam who fell down after being staggered by the walking stick of Khelchandra at the presentation ceremony of the coveted Sangeet Natak Academy awards in Delhi, one is caught agog with 'mixbag reaction'- which way to response! To grieved. Ashamed. To chuckle. Either way or neither way? But you are bulldozed to respond any which way with all recollection of nostalgic memoirs-provided if you had have one. Yet the good things tread on the heels when the caption of the pic read, quoting Rastrapati Bhavan sources- 'There was no injury to the prez, who completed his 15-min address and later sat through the entire program.'

Best Wishes: With anti-defection law on your side, you have nothing to worry-about your completion of another five years in office, CM sap. Let the five year ahead be full of fullfilment of promises which you have made. But not that of resorting to making of another (more) promises. Good Luck!

HAPPY THABAL-CHONGBA!!!!!
