The 3rd Singcha Wuyawon Festival 2019 will be held from July 20 to 22nd at Singcha Village of Kamjong District.
Wuyawon is a specific variety of flower grown on the hilly slopes of Mount Wuya Kachui. The blooming season of the flower is in the month of July and it covered the entire hillock of Mount Wuya Kachui.
The festival is held annually since 2017 being organized by Singcha Katamnao Long (it means Singcha Student Union). This time, the festival will have exciting events including a live concert.
People came to know of the flower after an enthusiastic team of Keiraak, a photography and videography body and a local caterer known as Jane of all Trades made it known to public in 2017.
The flower has been named after Mount Wuya Kachui of Singcha Village located under the jurisdiction of Kamjong District.

Singcha Village is a small hamlet nestling among the mountainous terrain along Imphal-Kamjong Road under the jurisdiction of Kamjong District and it is approximately 90 kilometres from Imphal. It is inhabited by the Tangkhul community.
The village became a big buzz among nature lovers due to the presence of Wuyawon. Wuyawon bloomed on Mount Wuya Kachui covering its entire hillock and it is a rare sight to behold.
As you drive along the road to Singcha Village, you will witness fog covering the entire areas and it surely gave an exhilarating experience.
Singcha Village houses around 90 households and farming is the main occupation of the villagers. The ideal season to visit the place is at September and October.
One of the exciting features of the village is that the village remains foggy and cold all the year round.
The village has a primary health sub-centre and the nearest hospital is Kamjong Community Health Centre. The village has a school known as Singcha Government Primary School and there are around 30 students and 5 teachers.
Some of the neighbouring villages are Maku, Pushing, Khangkhui, Langkhe and Yidah.
In an exclusive chat with Team E-pao, President of Singcha Katamnao Long, Nganaomi Kasar intimated that the village received around minimum 100 visitors on normal daily basis but during the festival the village received around 1000 visitors per day.
Nganaomi Kasar added that the Union has plans to set up a viewpoint, rest camp and market shed for the villagers in the time to come.
The village is also one of the producers of organic products and vegetables such as green onion, green chilli, king chilli, mushroom, bamboo shoots, Naga mustard leaves, cabbages, carrots, radish, broccoli, soya beans and fish. This time the Union is going to award women vendors who can sell more organic products, he added.

As the flower blooms in July, visitors may experience rains on any day. Right now, there are no rest camps and makeshift huts on the hillock of Mount Wuya Kachui. So if anyone planned to visit the place, it would be wise for them to bring an umbrella or raincoat and not to forget to fish out a sweater or jacket to save themselves from the cold.
The place is poised to be a tourist hotspot in due time because of the presence of the rare flower and the mystical weather of the place.
It is an ideal place especially for nature lovers and hoped that the place get the attention of authority concerned for its conservation and protection as Nature often becomes victim of human exploitation.
