YWC, TYWO victorious in IE 2nd Divn League

Imphal, December 05 2021: YWC, Thambalkhong and TYWO, Takhel emerged victorious in today's Group A league matches of the ongoing Koijam Madhop Memorial Second Division Football League Tournament being organised by the Imphal East District Football Association at YWC playground, Thambalkhong.

YWC, Thambalkhong were 2-1 victorious against NIVSO, Keibi today as Arora scored the opener in the 10th minute before Bigyananda scored the other in the 49th minute.

Misfiring NIVSO managed to grab the lone goal during the stoppage time (60+2') via Th Sunil.

Earlier in the day, TYWO edged UDO, Heingang 3-2 in a match that turned violent towards the closing minutes.

To control the situation, the referee had to send off Seiginlen Haokip of TYWO and UDO's Y Suraj and Asikhan in the 57th minute reducing the Takhel team to 10-man and UDO to a 9-man team.

It was an evenly matched game with the two sides levelled on 1-1 till the break before TWYO scored a late 57th goal to move a step ahead.

A Bhashkar drew first blood in the 5th minute to hand TWYO an early lead before Holendro scored the equaliser for UDO in the 29th minute.

Ahamat helped UDO overturn the lead in the 34th minute after the restart but TYWO made their way back into the game with Jim Basheimayum scoring the equaliser in the 45th minute.

M Abinash then struck the winner in the 57th minute to hand TWYO a 3-2 win.
