Imphal, December 05 2021:
Students of the Department of Teacher Education, Manipur University have strongly called for stopping preparations being made to conduct fresh entrance examination for admission to B Ed first semester of the university and suggested that the same be conducted after the fact-finding committee identifies those involved in question leak.
According to a representative of students of the department named Kanchal, it was shameful for the university that question for entrance examination for admission to B Ed first semester conducted on November 28 was leaked.
In the aftermath of the incident, higher authority of the university issued an order on December 3 notifying that the entrance examination will be conducted afresh on December 12.The order also mentioned that the fact-finding committee formed to probe the incident would submit its finding within three weeks.
However, it was very surprising and questionable as to why fresh entrance examination is to be conducted ahead of report of the fact-finding committee.
Students of the department are suspicious that the order to conduct fresh entrance examination was issued to find a way for concealing those involved in question leakage once the entrance examination has been conducted, Kanchal said, adding that the incident has not only demoralised students who want to study but also tarnished image of the department.
Expressing her displeasure over inaction from cybercrime unit of state police department in solving the case promptly, Kanchal said that such incidents are imminent in future if culprits involved in question leakage are not identified and the case remains unresolved.
She then urged MU authority to act promptly to identify those involved and award them befitting punishment.
