Indo Myanmar Border Traders Union seeks help for Meeteis at Myanmar

Indo Myanmar Border Traders Union (IMBTU) has sought the help from all for Meeteis residing at Myanmar who have been worst hit by COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press release, the union expressed concern that the Meeteis in Myanmar have been suffering due to the unrest in Myanmar aftermath of military coup and the shortage of medicines and medical equipment amid the alarming situation of COVID-19 have added more woes to their problems In this regard, Deputy Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur, Peter Salam issued an order on July 31, 2021 approving the opening of Myanmar Gate no 1 and 2 for the export of medical items only.
The order has been issued in pursuance of the order issued on July 29, 2021 by Smita Pant, Joint Secretary (Bangladesh & Myanmar), Ministry of External Affairs (BM Division).
