N Pramoda bags R Kathing Literary Award

Imphal, August 20 2021: Patriotic Writers' Forum, Manipur presented R Kathing Tangkhul Literary Award 2021 to Nandeibam Pramoda on the occasion of 30th Manipuri Language Day held at Awang Leikinthabi Shantipur Awang Leikai in Imphal West district on Friday.

Pramoda was honoured with the award for her short story book Sana Ahingba Machugidamak'.

Educationist and cultural activist Dr S Manaoton and Forum president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang attended the programme as chief guest and president respectively.

Forum's Guwahati unit life member KC Mangang and lyricist Waikhom Bihari were also present on the occasion as guests of honour.

In his address, Forum secretary Rakesh Naorem called upon the people of the state to join hands in promoting Mahipuri language and to use indigenous appellatives in naming their kids.
