Nishikant promises transparency, accountability

Imphal, September 20 2021: Owner of The Sangai Express Nishikant Singh Sapam has reiterated that he stepped into electoral politics with a conviction to bring about positive changes in Keishamthong Constituency and the State as a whole in line with the aspiration of the people, but not to earn money.

Speaking to media persons while inaugurating an office of Team Nishikant at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai Leirak Macha today, Nishikant continued that his ambition is to take Keishamthong to greater heights.

Stating that winning the hearts of the people is of paramount importance to him, Nishikant contended that he would seek votes through honest and dedicated services.

"Money can't always buy votes and neither will the people of Keishamthong fall to such deceit," he said and reiterated that he will work with complete transparency and accountability.

Maintaining that Team Nishikant has about 2,000 members, he added that contribution of each and every member of the team is crucial to emerge victorious in the impending elections.

"They join Team Nishikant by putting faith in our ideology," he said.

Nishikant also said that the newly inaugurated office will be of much help in intensifying the undertaking of 'our team'.

Stating that he will utilise LADF and MLA salary with utmost transparency if he is elected, Nishikant reaffirmed that he will never try to recover the money he spent on election campaigns.

Nishikant also said that he will neither interfere in any Government recruitment process nor in transfer and posting of employees under any circumstances.

"I will also make sure money sanctioned for developmental and welfare programmes reach the intended target without losing a single rupee," he said and added that every grain of rice meant for the public will also reach the beneficiaries if he is elected as an MLA.

Nishikant continued that he will not let his family members interfere into his political journey.

"Though I'm a firm believer of Nari Shakti, I'll not let my wife or any of my family member interfere in my political journey," he said.

"There is a saying that a person is defined by what he/she does.

I grew up as a businessman so I only speak what is true frankly," he contended and said that he doesn't target any individual through his boldness.

Stating that election to Keishamthong AC is being made complicated as two contractors from the constituency are also preparing for the election, he maintained that politics, however, is an arena for those who have political wisdom and for the one to have this wisdom, exposure and experience are essential.

Pointing out that BJP is one of the largest political parties in the world, Nishikant expressed confidence that the party would give its ticket to the most deserving candidate.

He said that it would be better for those politicians who don't help the people during these trying times of Covid pandemic if they do not contest the elections.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi considered himself to be a sevak of the people," the intending candidate said and expressed his keen desire to be a sevak for the people of Manipur too.

Nishikant assured that he will deliver his promises if given the opportunity.

The programme presided by senior citizen Longjam Bikram was also attended by Suresh Ningthoujam.
