Primary school teachers buy uniforms, textbooks for students without Government's aid

Thoubal, February 21 2018: As a result of a clear negligence on the part of the Government and concerned Department of Education, teachers and management committee, SDMC of Khangabok Awang Leikai Primary School, Khangabok today distributed uniforms and text books bought from their own pockets to the students.

Appeals were made to the Government to deliver the uniforms and text books, but the aid never arrived, said the teachers.

Academic session of the school had started on January 11 and necessary materials (text books) and uniforms were lacking, they said.

The management committee and the teachers took the matter own their own and bought the uniforms and textbooks for greater good of the students.

Members of the local club of the area, Head Master, teaching staffs, SDMC members and guardians of the students took part in the uniform distribution ceremony held at the school today.

Uniforms- skirts, T-shirts, pants, ID cards and text books were distributed to 25 students of the school.

Parents and Guardians present at the ceremony lauded the teachers and SDMC for their effort.

All the stakeholders today urged the Government and concerned department to improve the infrastructure of the school and be more committed towards the primary schools.

They further appealed the Government to construct a proper fencing around the school.
