Police arrest four UG activists

Imphal, October 18 2014 : A team of Imphal East District Police commandos reportedly arrested two active members of KCP (Maoist) identified as Ingoudam Ibungo Singh @ Inao (33) yrs S/o (L) I.Mago Singh of Seijang Makha Leikai and Ngangom Shanta Singh @ Mamo (37) yrs S/o Ng.

Krishna Singh of Loushangkhong Awang Leikai from Lamlai Bazar on October 16 last, according to a statement of PRO, Manipur Police department.

Incriminating articles were seized from the arrestees who were allegedly coming for collecting extortion money from a brick-field located at Telou Chana and they had also extorted a sum of Rs.2 (two) lakhs from Uripok Canteen Leirak recently, claimed the police statement while adding that they had extorted a huge amount of money from the general public, private firms, government offices, contractors and brick-fields located in and around Lamlai area to raise funds for KCP (Maoist).

A case has been registered at Lamlai Police Station for further investigation.

In another incident, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police commando unit and 12 Bihar Regiment apprehended one publicity secretary of KCP (MC) Lamyanba Khuman Group identified as M.Robert @ Washington (30) yrs S/o M.Rotonjao Singh of Awang Khunou Mayai Leikai on October 17, said the statement.

A case has been registered at Patsoi Police Station and investigation is going on, it added.

The statement further stated that a combined team of Bishnupur District Police commando unit and 12 Bihar Regiment conducted search operation at Nambol Bazarand arrested one active member of PREPAK namely Manson Ningthoujam @ Sana (23) yrs S/o (L) N.Babu Singh of Koirou Thongju Part-II, Imphal East on October 17.Investigation revealed that he was involved in recruiting youths for the said organization, the statement claimed and informed that a case has been registered at Nambol Police Station and investigation is going on.
