Imphal, October 18 2014 :
Director of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF&PD) Department Mutum Yaiskul Meitei has said that there is no disparity in the allocation of SK oil (kerosene) for the third quarter (October to December) in respect of four hill districts of the State.
Talking to media persons at his office chamber here today, Director Yaiskul said that the media report regarding disparity in SK oil allocation is totally baseless.
There has been slight modification in the allocation for the third quarter according to the complaints and representations received from the people of the hills.
The State Government has received several complaints regarding non-delivery of full quota of SK oil to the public by some dealers in the previous quarters.
As a result, some credible dealers have been allocated more in this third quarter.
There was no question of disparity in the allocation and it would be reviewed from time to time to ensure full delivery to the public, Yaiskul said.
He also clarified that 219 KL of SK oil has been kept in the Director's pool for the Municipal Councils, students of colleges and university, media persons, retired SSB personnel and others.
