Imphal, April 26: On the second day of the 6th Manipuri National Convention being organised by NESCOCOMI at Silchar's Inter State Bus Terminus today, a discussion session on the topic of 'Students' movement in North East: A post-mortem of North East student movement' was held today with former president of Assam Manipuri Students' Association S Nandakishore.

The inaugural function of the discussion session held in the morning was attended by vice president of NESO Punte as chief guest and Advocate N Boby Singh and HRD member S Surjit as resource persons.

In the afternoon session, discussion held on the topic of 'A unified North East: A need for peaceful existence with special reference to Assam' was moderated by distinguished personality Dr Chandramani with former vice president of AMSU Priyokumar and former member of Shillong Students' Union O Jugindro as resource persons.

In continuation of the programme, various cultural troupes presented dance and songs much to the delight of the august gathering.

Youth conference: The Ist annual general conference cum State level youth conference, 2008 would be hosted by Youths Foundation for Fitness and Service (YOFFS), Manipur at the premises of Kangla Hall, Imphal on April 27 .

During the conference, there would be sessions on open discussion, interaction, argumentation and sharing of knowledge on various subject matters like health and education, disaster management and natural calamities, games and sports, HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, alcoholism and social evils, law and order problem, politics and political system of Manipur, science and technology, poverty, and economy and women and child development among other issues , according to a state ment issued by convenor of the organising committee Bilas Kha Nganba.
