A specially designed seven coach train RED RIBBON EXPRESS will be arriving at Dimapur tommorrow morning, spreading awareness about HIV, promoting safe behavioural practices and fighting the stigma and descrimination aginst AIDS.
The RRE which was launched on December last year on the occassion of the World Aids Day by the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will travel across the country carrying HIV/AIDS prevention messages and will reach Dimapur at 4.30 am on Monday,announced Daman Ahuja, National Consultant RRE (NACO) during a press conference here today.
Elaborating about the RRE Ahuja told reporters that the train is a part of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, implemented by the NACO in partnership with NYK Sanghathan and the MInistry of Railways.
During the train's three days halt at Dimapur (April 10 to 12), nine sessions will be held on HIV/AIDS related issues followed by question and answer sessions.
Highlighting off site activities in Dimapur, 14 cultural troupes, six accompanying the RRE, six local troupe and two troupe of the Song and Drama Division, Manipur, Ministry of Inf.
and Broadcastig will fan out in eight groups after the train reaches Dimapur tommorrow morning.
The two cultural troupes from Manipur will travel in the bus caravan consisting of 2 large buses specifically designed for the purpose.
A formal RRE arrival function will be held at Dimapur Railway Station tomorrow.
After three days' halt, the train will leave for Tinsukhia on 13th March.
