68th NSG Football for U-19 boys : Hosts Manipur kickstart league campaign with 5-0 rout of IPSC

Hosts Manipur kicked off their league campaign (Pool C) in the 68th National School Games Football for U-19 boys with a 5-0 rout of IPSC, Delhi at ESU ground, Wangkhei Palace Compound on the opening day.
The 32-team tournament is hosted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur at multiple venues across Imphal under the auspices of School Games Federation of India.
Manipur thoroughly dominated the game at ESU ground and raced to a 2-0 lead before pumping in three more goals in the second half to register the emphatic 5-0 victory.
It was Kh David, who found the breakthrough, after 10 minutes before Yaikhomba made it 2-0 after 13 minutes.
Diamond further extended the lead 3-0 after 65 minutes before W Sanatomba and Krishnakanta joined the fray and added a goal apiece respectively in the 79th and the 80th minute to complete the 5-0 rout of IPSC .
In the Pool A opener staged at Lamlong Turf, Delhi beat Jammu and Kashmir by 3-1 goals as CBSE and CISCE played out a 2-2 draw in the Pool B opener at ESU ground.
In the Pool D match staged at Lamlong Turf, Andaman and Nicobar Island beat Rajasthan by 1-0 goal as Madhya Pradesh thrashed Chandigarh by 4-1 goals in another Pool D match at Langjing Turf.
In a Pool E match staged at ESU ground, Arunachal Pradesh demolished CBSE Welfare Sports Organisation by 15-0 goals as Tamil Nadu crushed Puducherry by 8-2 goals at Lamlong Turf.
In a Pool F match staged at Langjing Turf, Maharashtra edged past Uttar Pradesh by 2-1 goals while Vidhya Bharathi notched up an easy 5-0 win over Telangana at ESU ground in another Pool F match.
The day also saw Gujarat beating IBSO by 4-2 goals in a Pool H match at ESU ground.
