Manipur ease into Sub-Jr Boys' NFC Tier 1 semifinals

Manipur recorded their third straight win with a 6-2 drubbing of Jharkhand to book a semifinal spot in the Sub-Junior Boys' National Football Championship 2024 Tier 1.With the result, the state boys emerged Group B winners with nine points from their three games.
They will face Group D winners in the semifinals on September 20.Manipur came from behind to comfortably outscore their opponents in their last group stage match held at Bangalore Football Stadium on Wednesday.
Jharkhand stole a march with a 25 th-minute goal from Aniket Tigga.
Manipur responded through Kisham Bikash Singh, who made it all square in the 26th minute as Khutheipham Muktar Rehman put the state squad in front in the 42nd minute before Huirem Chinglemba Singh made it 3-1 just one minute before the halftime whistle.
Bikash doubled his tally in the 68th minute, extending their advantage.
Aniket Tigga scored his second goal for Jharkhand in the 75th minute.
However, Manipur regained momentum with Gurumayum Prohitkumar Sharma's strike in the 80th minute, followed by Laishram Mahesh Singh sealing a resounding victory with a sixth goal in the final moments of stoppage time, securing their path to the semifinals.
