Stage set for MU Inter College Handball finals

Imphal, October 17 2019: Biramangol College will be meeting Waikhom Mani Girls' College in women final at the Capt Sanoujam Ingo Singh (retd) & Sanoujam Ongbi Ayekpam Nalini Devi Memorial Manipur University Inter College Handball (men & women) Tournament 2019-20 while Mayai Lambi College will take on DMC Arts in the men's final.

The tournament hosted by Biramangol College, Sawombung under the supervision of MU Sports Committee kicked off today with 6 mens and 5 women's college teams.

Women's Clashes
Waikhom Mani College reached the final with a 7-3 victory over DM College of Arts as O Ranjita (3), L Ashalata (2) and L Umapati (2) did the scoring.

I Chinta and Loyalembi on the other hand earned 2 and 1 goal each for DM College of Arts in this match.

Meanwhile, hosts Biramangol College earned the final berth thrashing DM College of Science 13-1 in the semi-final riding on gaols by Th Kabita (4), Th Anjubala (4), K Sonia (2), S Roma (2) and H Jenita (1) .

The lone goal of the losing side was scored by Th Jenila.

Men's Clashes
DM College of Arts men's team started their title campaign with a 14-1 thrashing of DM College of Science in the quarter final match before overcoming MU 8-2 in the semi-final.

Meanwhile, Mayai Lambi College reached the final with a 17-14 win against Biramangol College in the semi-final today.

Mayai Lambi made their way into the semifinal with a 11-2 win against Imphal College in the quarter final.

Th Yaiphaba led the scoring Mayai Lambi College with 4 goals in his name while Th Momocha and N Suraj added 2 goals each besides T Chingkheinganba, I Atomba and Th Sushilkumar netting a goal apiece.

S Amarjit and S Rakesh scored a goal each for Imphal College.
