L Nongthon Singh Memorial Soccer : 4-Star set up title clash with Thoi FC

Imphal, May 29 2019: 4-Star, Thoubal Athokpam earned a comeback 2-1 win against Tangkhul FC, Tekcham at Nongpok Lourembam playground today to set up the title clash of the L Nongthon Singh Memorial Soccer Tournament with Thoi FC.

4-Star came back from one goal down to Tangkhul FC as Yasir drew level before striking another to book the final berth today.

Both the teams started the game cautiously making a series of interceptions until Shahbash of Tangkhul FC gave his team the lead in the 15th minute.

4-Star which were unlucky to convert their chances paved a way back into the game when Yasir banged in the equaliser in the 31st minute before striking his second 5 minutes latter.

4-Star then slipped into defensive format and successfully fended off the late charges being made by Tangkhul FC to finish the game 2-1 .

Sahidur and Jacob were sent off the field after receiving their second yellow cards respectively in the 56th and the 65th minute as the match got tense in the latter part of the game.

Yasir who completed a brace and steered his team into the final was adjudged man of the match.
