17th Manipur State League : Amujao, Jabit earn Elite FA 5-3 win over Rahee UC; SGH thump KLASA 2-0

Imphal, March 02 2025: Elite FA, Kontha Ahallup notched up a 5-3 win over Rahee UC, Kamjong as Sang-gai Heroes (SGH), Angtha thumped KLASA, Keinou 2-0 in today's matches of the ongoing 17th Manipur State League.

In the Group B match staged this afternoon, SGH scored both goals in the opening half at Artificial Turf Ground to seal their third win on the trot.

SGH, who had beaten SAI-RC and NEROCA in their previous matches, got off to a rousing start as Sakil Ahmad scored a freak first minute goal.

KLASA, who had gone down twice and drawn once in three previous games, had their chances to close the gap but lack in precision forced them to trail behind the Angtha side.

To their disappointment, SGH doubled their advantage in the 40th minute with defender Pukhrambam Roshan converting a fine chance.

SGH kept looking for more goals in the later half of the game but KLASA managed to thwart their moves to deny further goals.

However, goals galore later in the day as Elite FA came out 5-3 winners against Rahee UC in a Group A encounter thanks to a treble from Thiyam Amujao and a double from Sm Jabit.

The win helped Elite FA extend their unbeaten run in five games and go second in the group table with 9 points (2 wins and 3 draws) below provisional table toppers NESU (10 points off 3 wins and 1 draw) .

Elite FA were quick off their blocks and were leading by 2-0 goals within 5 minutes as Amujao opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and Jabit scored the second in the 5th minute.

The scoring spree continued with Amujao scoring the team's third in the 18th minute before Rahee UC pulled back a goal through Mahoting Kashung in the 28th minute.

Amujao was however at it again in the 38th minute to help Elite FA cruise into the break with a commanding 4-1 lead.

After the restart, Rahee UC poured in more effort and halved the deficit through Wunganing R Shimray in the 55th minute but Elite FA regained the three goal advantage within two minutes as Jabit completed his double.

Rahee UC did not lose hope and fought back to further reduce the margin courtesy of Moirangthem Abinash but their comeback effort did not yield result as Elite FA tightened up their defence to avoid further goals and eventually sealed the 5-3 win.
