Imphal, April 15 2025: THAU, Thangmeiband upstaged PTCC, Patsoi by 67 runs in a Group A winners' deciding match of the ongoing 1st MNCA U-23 Women's One Day Trophy.

Opting to bat first at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, THAU rode on sensible middle order batting performances from Brahmacharimayum Seterny 41 off 50 and Thoudam Niruta 38 off 32, and 36 extras to post 165/9 in the allotted 35 overs.

THAU then successfully defended the total by bowling out PTCC for 98 runs in 34.1 overs thanks to leading bowling performances from Kongjengbam Nonibala (3/13) and Thoudam Niruta (2/7) .

Earlier in the first innings, Bandana (2/16), Khundrakpam Anjali (2/31), Thoudam Mangalsana (1/24), Khundrakpam Angoubi (1/34) and Niruka (1/25) shared 7 wickets among them.

In reply, only Laishram Teresa 32 off 52 emerged double digit run getter as Hijam Malemkhombi, A Thoithoibi and Naoroibam Sophiya of THAU also chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Niruta who starred with both the bat and ball was named player of the match.

In a dead rubber Group A match staged elsewhere at THAU ground, TCMDC crushed Al-Ameen by 109 runs.

TCMDC piled up 183 runs for 4 wickets after electing to bat first thanks to Thoudam Ningthoisana's unbeaten 65-ball 72, Yensembam Nikita's unbeaten 17-ball 25, and 44 extras.

Ch Priyadashni (4/5 in 2 overs), Yensembam Nikita (2/7 in 4 overs) and Anoubam Inao (2/11 in 2 overs) then dismantled Al-Ameen for 74 runs.

For Al-Ameen, Farhana picked two wickets as Sanjida managed one before Najiya Begum scored the highest 14 in the chase.

Thoudam Ningthoisana who topscored for TCMDC was adjudged player of the match.

Semi-final matches
Group A winners THAU will play Group A runners-up SHADOW in the first semi-final match at THAU ground, Thangmeiband on April 17 while Group B winners FORCE will play Group A runners-up PTCC at Kongba Dhobi Lampak in the other semi-final match the same day.
