AITA-MATA Super Series : Doubles' winners Bhicky and Bushan to face off for singles crown

Imphal, October 16 2019: In a proud moment, State duo of Bhicky Sagolshem and Bushan Haobam won the boys' doubles title at AITA-MATA Super Series for U-16 boys and girls which is being underway at Officers' Club Tennis Court, Lamphel and interestingly the two lads will be meeting as rivals in the singles final tomorrow at 8 am .

AITA-MATA Super Series : Doubles' winners Bhicky and Bushan to face off for singles crown

Bushan Haobam and Bhicky Sagolshem combined well in the doubles final match staged today thrashed Neel Joglekar and Shankar Heisnam pair 6-0, 6-2 to and deservingly lifted the title.

Bushan and Bhicky cruised into the final today with a hard earned 6-4, 7-5 win against spirited Ashwajit Senjam and Aryan Borah in the semi-final while Joglekar and Shankar eased 6-1, 6-0 past Yusuf Seraj and Ramansh Sharma duo to complete the final line up.

Boys' Singles
Bhicky Sagolshem who saw off Tushar Paul in the boys singles quarter final carried forward his momentum in the semi-final against Aryan Borah today to ensure a landslide 6-1, 6-0 win and booked the final berth.

Bushan Haobam on the other hand sealed the final berth comfortably by beating Medhansh Jain 6-2, 6-1 in another semi-final clash staged today.

Girls Singles
The final line up for the girls singles competition was also completed today with Prapurna Veda Raju and Justina Borgohain making it to the finals.

Prapurna reached the final with a 6-0, 6-2 thrashing of Maryam Seraj in a semi-final clash today while Justina completed the line up with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Ika Raju Kanumuri.

Borgohain reached the semi-final with a 6-2, 6-4 win against win against Sumeira Jaiswal in a quarter final clash.

Girls Doubles
Final stage was also set for the girls doubles competition with Tanisqa Patar and Justina Borgohain overwhelming Alyona Tyagi and Aneesha Mukherjee pair 6-0, 6-4 in the semi-final clash staged today.

They will meet Prapurna Veda Raju and Ika Raju Kanumuri pair for the top honour tomorrow at 10 am .
