BIH to meet DNH in Div- B final showdown

Imphal, May 15 2016: Hockey Bihar (BIH) and Dadra & Nagar Haveli Hockey Association (DNH) will clash in the Division-A's final match of the 6th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men's National Championship (B-Division), organised by the Hockey Manipur under the aegis of Hockey India, tomorrow at 4 pm at Hockey Ground, Khuman Lampak.

In today's Division-B's semifinal match, Hockey Bihar (BIH) thrashed Chattisgarh Hockey (CHA) by a margin of 9 goals to one.

Amrit Ekka hit a treble in the 33rd, 46th and 69th minute while Martin Tuli ( 31st, 58th) and Turtan Minz (16th, 57th) scored a brace each for the winning team.

Suleman Herenju and Md Danish also contributed a goal each in the 64th and 38th respectively.

The solitary goal for CHA was scored by Khilesh Pandya in the 10th minute.

In another semifinal match today, Dadra & Nagar Haveli Hockey Association (DNH) blanked Hockey Bhopal (BHO) by a margin of 3 goals to nil.

Lokesh Vats, Gurbinder Singh and Mohd Sultan scored the winning goals in the 61st, 67th and 70th minute respectively.

In Division-A's Group-A match, Hockey Manipur (MAN) held Hockey Odisha (ODI) 3-3 .

Binod Toppo (3rd, 10th) and Rohit Beck (30th) scored for ODI while MAN witnessed their goals through Dipu Laishram, Rabinchandra Moirangthem and Kingson Thokchom in the 13th, 35th and 68th minute respectively.

In a different Group-A match today, strikes from Sandeep Kumar and Jaspreet in the 23rd and 61st minute helped Hockey Patialia (HPA) edged past Uttar Pradesh Hockey (UPH) by a margin of 2 goals to one.

On the other side, Suraj Singh scored the lone goal of UPH in the 46th minute.

In a Group-B match, Hockey Haryana (HAR) claimed an easy 6-3 victory against Hockey Unit Tamil Nadu (UTN).

The winning goals of HAR came from Roman (18th, 62nd), Mahipal Parmit, Bhanu Sharma and Sunny in the 7th, 20th, 34th and 55th minute.

On the other hand, K Gunaseelan, S Mohammed Yaseen and S Karthi scored in the 46th, 49th and 69th minute respectively for UTN.

In today's last Group-B match, Hockey Punjab (PUN) edged past Hockey Chandigarh (CHD) 5-4 .

A double each from Karajwinder Singh (8th, 12th) and Vishaljit Singh (49th, 59th) and a goal from Karandeep Singh in the 5th minute gave five winning goals to PUN.

For CHD, Sanjay hit a treble in the 2nd, 14th and 65th minute.

Maninder Singh also scored a goal early in the 1st minute.
