Jotin's heroics help PTRC upset CHAMP to face CYCLONE in Elite final

All-round Jotin Singh Pheiroijam's century and 5-wicket haul helped PTRC outclass CHAMP by 8 wickets on Sunday to set up title clash with CYCLONE in the 8th MNCA Elite Tournament.
PTRC decided to field and dismissed CHAMP in 37 overs for 200.Jotin Singh Pheiroijam turned out to be the star performer for PTRC by claiming 5 scalps as Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam picked up two wickets, with Raj Kumar Rex Singh, Chingakham Bidash Meitei and Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh taking one wicket apiece.
For CHAMP, Nitesh Sedai top-scored for his team with 70, followed by Moirangthem Thomas Singh (25), Samir (23), Narsingh Yadav (22) and Leikhram Johny Singh (13).Chasing 201, PTRC rode on Jotin Singh Pheiroijam's unbeaten knock of 100 off 82 balls and Khangembam Santosh Singh's unbeaten 66 off 93 balls to secure a resounding 8-wicket win in the Qualifier 2, propelling them to the final.
During the chase, opener Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh (17) was dismissed by Nitesh Sedai while Ngariyanbam Jameson Singh (5), who batted at number 3, fell prey to Keisham Kennedy's bowling.
PTRC and CYCLONE will battle it out for the title on May 2, 2024 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground.
