ESU boys and girls take home 29th State Youth Basketball crowns

Imphal, September 28 2026: It was double delight for ESU, Wangkhei as their boys and girls emerged champions in the 29th State Youth Basketball Championships organised by the Manipur Basketball Association at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.

ESU clinched the boys' title this evening with a commanding 83-64 win over LMYVA, Lalambung Makhong as Prince made a match defining 40-point finish including 2 treys.

Chingkhei followed suit with a fine 26 points finish for the winners as Robinhood (9 pts), Milkan (6 pts) and Satish (2 pts) amassed 17 points.

For LMYVA, Satish led the scoring with 15 points as Anderson (12 pts), Th Thoungamba (12 pts) and Woyipen Chithung (11 pts) too managed double digit scores.

Malemson (6 pts), Kh Chouba (6 pts) and G Ronald (2 pts) were also among the scorers for the team in a lost cause.

ESU girls meanwhile pulled off a 27-22 win over YOSC, Khurai in the title clash earlier this evening.

Katherine shone with a game-high 19-point on the back of three triples as Nancy scored 4 points and the pair of Angelina and Babylia scored 2 points apiece.

K Tejasvi meanwhile dropped 12 points for YOSC in a lost cause followed by A Angelina on 8 points and T Thoithoibi on 2 points.
