2nd T-20 Veteran Cricket Meet : CYCLONE drub UCC by 8 wickets

Riding on a four wicket burst from Binoy and three wickets from Tikim, CYCLONE overcame UCC by 8 wickets in the 2nd T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament today.
Winning the toss, UCC opted to bat and this backfired as the spearheads of CYCLONE managed to maximise on the early morning dew and extract bounce from the pitch to regularly send the UCC batsmen back to the pavilion.
Keeping a fine line and length the duo of Binoy and Tikim managed to keep the batsmen of UCC under wraps and sent them packing for 90 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
For UCC, Beda Prakash put up a semblance of a fight scoring a quick fire 24 off 21 balls, but with wickets falling at regular intervals at the other end, his efforts went in vain.
The other notable contributors for UCC were Hakim with17 runs off 18 balls, Mac Mohan 16 runs off 26 balls and Romio 13 runs off only 10 balls.
Going for the big shots, UCC did themselves in as Binoy and Tikim extracted bounce from the wicket to returned figures of 4 wickets and 3 wickets each to restrict UCC at 90 runs for 9 in 20 overs.
Robindro chipped in with one wicket for CYCLONE.
Put into bat, CYCLONE went on the run chase with a trail blazing 33 runs off 21 balls from Thoithoi with the other notable contributors being Ingenjao 24 runs off 14 balls, Stanlic 17 off only 8 balls and Sunil 13 runs off 11 balls.
The last two named batsmen carried their bats through and CYCLONE managed to put up 93 runs for the loss of two wickets and register a thumping win.
For UCC, Hakim was the lone wicket taker with two wickets.
Wayward bowling helped the cause of CYCLONE, as their batsmen scored freely on either side of the wickets to surpass the total of 90 runs in only 8.5 wickets.
For his haul of 4 wickets, Binoy of CYCLONE bagged the man of the match award.
