62nd CC Meet-2019; YUFC, MA cruise into next stage with landslide wins

Imphal, December 14 2019: YUFC, Ukhrul romped past LYGSEDA, Lonpi 6-1 while Muvanlai Athletics (MA), Kangpokpi trounced SWC, Keirak 8-1 at Mapal Kangjeibung to make themselves into the next stage of the 62nd Sir Churachand Singh KSCI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament being organised by All Manipur Football Association.

In the 8th match of the tournament, Yamilangvah and Warchuifei wreaked havoc across the defence line of LYGSEDA, Lonpi to hand YUFC a huge 6-1 victory.

YUFC got off to a flying start and needed only 10 minutes to find the breakthrough when Yamilangvah found the back of the net and Warchuifei banged in the team's second in a span of 5 minutes to carried forward the momentum.

LYGSEDA were given no respite as YUFC continued to mount pressure despite the comfortable lead and it was star of the day Yamilangvah who banged in his second in the 36th minute and put YUFC 3-0 ahead of LYGSEDA till the break.

Yamilangvah completed his treble in the 43rd minute after the changeover to make it 4-0 before LYGSEDA pulled back a goal in the 56th minute through Lalhmangai.

YUFC regained control shortly after LYGSEDA goal and to pile up more pressure upon their rivals, Warchuifei scored his second in the 58th minute before Yamilangvah rounded off the scoring neatly in the 80th minute of the match.

Meanwhile in the second match of the day, Lunginthang and Clevan Hmar netted three goals apiece to help Muvanlai Athletics overwhelm SWC, Keirak 8-1.Lunginthang started the demolition work early opening up the account in the 3rd minute and quickly completed his double by scoring another the very next minute.

SWC, Keirak managed a goal in the 15th minute through Kh Biken but unfortunately it proved to be their last goal as they hardly created chances in the remaining portion of the game.

Clevan Hmar helped YUFC returned with the attack scoring the team's third in the 16th minute before grabbing another in the 39th minute.

Houlengou also joined the onslaught netting once in the 41st minute of the match and ensured the Ukhrul side ease into the break with a 5-1 lead.

The were no stopping for YUFC in the second half despite the huge lead and it was in the 52nd minute that Lunginthang K completed his treble and his team mate Seineo Kuki got his name etched on the scoresheet adding the team's 7th goal in the 66th minute before Clevan Hmar the drove home the final nail during the stoppage time (90+1') and made it 8-1 .

NISA, Thangmeiband will meet WYFC, Wangjing in the next match tomorrow at 11.30 am before RAU, Lairikyengbam meet UKB, Churachandpur.
