State Level Subroto Football Cup concludes Pinjabati HS, CT HSS, Ukhrul HSS lift trophies

Pinjabati High School (Sadakhong), Bishnupur; CT Higher Secondary School (Mayang Imphal), Imphal West and Ukhrul Higher Secondary School respectively emerged champions of the Under-14 boy's, Under-17 girl's and Under-17 boy's cahmpions of the State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur, today at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) Commissioner H Deleep Singh (IAS), YAS Joint Director Kh Pramoda Devi and All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) general secretary L Ranjit Roy as chief guest, president and guest of honour.

The winning teams will now represent Manipur in the upcoming International Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, organised by the Subroto Mukherjee Sports Education Society to be held in September and October.
In the Under-14 boy's final match today, 10-men Pinjabati HS, Bishnupur registered an easy 3-1 victory against New Lamka JB School, Churachandpur by a margin of 3 goals to one.
E Rakesh was the star player as he scored a hattrick in the 11th, 52nd and 61st minute.
On the other side, Lanminsang (43rd) was the lone scorer of New Lamka JB School.
Pinjabati's Deben was sent off in the 51st first minute while Bikash of Pinjabati and H Muon of New Lamka were cautioned during the match.
In the Under-17 girl's final match, a lone strike from H Daya helped CT HSS, Imphal West clinch a narrow 1-0 win over Lamlai HS, Imphal East.
In the Under-17 boy's final match, Ukhrul, HSS handed a thrilling 6-5 defeat to Nilamani English School, Imphal West via penalty shootout after both sides failed to break the deadlock in normal time.
In the penalty shootout, Khangtar, Mayon K, C Ayat, Mangshumi, Sovamie, S Ragui found their targets giving six goals to the Ukhrul team.
On the other hand, Imphal West witnessed their goals through Hillen, Netrajit, Lansinson, Chungmei and Roben.
