KVWA win both titles of 36th State Level Mini Boys and Girls Handball Tournament

Imphal, March 02 2025: Both the boys and girls of KVWA, Mayang Imphal were crowned the champions of the 36th State Level Mini Boys and Girls Handball Tournament organised by the Service Recreation and Organisation of Youth (SROY) under the aegis of Manipur Handball Association at CYLC ground, Singjamei Chingamathak.

KVWA emerged girls champions this afternoon by beating KKLYDO, Kongpal by 17-9 goals.

H Naobi (7) and Ng Jeenybala (6) shared a bulk of 13 goals for KVWA as Th Likla (2), Th Lanchenbi (1) and Th Mathoi (1) netted four goals.

N Dolly scored 5 goals for KKLYDO in this match as Th Khrishtina (2), Athemphy (1) and Th Balika (1) gathered 4 goals.

Meanwhile, KVWA boys sealed the top honour beating OYO, Kongpal 36-17 in a one sided final clash staged later in the day.

Th Lanchenba took centrestage in this match as he scored 15 goals alone to devastate OYO hopes while his compatriots Th Malemthoiba and S Wilson scored 7 goals apiece.

H Malemnganba and Th Mathoi also added three goals apiece as W Gingson scored one for the team.

For OYO, Ksh Yaithoiba topscored with 10 runs to his name while Kh Santosh (3), S Lanchenba (2), Ksh Geetchandra (1) and T Malemnganba (1) added 7 goals.

The winners and runners up teams of both the categories were feted during the valedictory function that was attended by O Priyokumar, president Manipur Handball Association; Ng Indrakumar, president SROY; Huidrom Sanatomba, general secretary of Chingamathak Young Learners' Club (CYLC) and Arambam Birendra, general secretary of Manipur Handball Association as presidium members.

Individual prize winners including boys and girls' top scorers- Ksh Yaithoiba of OYO and N Dolly of KKLYDO; best boys and girls' players- S Wilson of KVWA and Th Khristina of KKLYDO; best boys and girls' goalkeepers- H Malemnganba of KVWA and S Rinabai of SSC and best disciplined teams- ESU (Boys) and SROY (girls) were also feted during the function.
