With the completion of all preparation of XI sub-junior (U-16) national hockey championship Manipur is ready for beginning its campaign against Himachal Pradesh tomorrow.
The opening ceremony will be held held at main stadium of Khuman Lampak with Manipur chief minister O Ibobi as chief guest while Manipur Hockey Association (MHA) president Bijoy Koijam as president.
Sports minister K Govindas and MLA K Ranjit will also attend the function as guest of honour.
The opening ceremony will held at 1 pm tomorrow.
Cultural programme and march past will mark the opening ceremony.
The championship is being organised by MHA under the aegis of Indian Hockey Federation.
The championship will continue till February 14.twentysix teams will participate in the championship.
The teams are divided into eight pools.
Karnataka, Jharkhand and Bengal will club in Pool A while Tamil Nadu, Mumbai (not Maharastra) and Namdhari will be in Pool B.Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Nagaland ware in Pool C while Orissa, Hyderabad and Tripura in Pool D.Manipur, Himachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar will in Pool E while Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir will club in Pool F.Chhatisgarh, Mizoram and Keral are in Pool G while Haryana, Maharastra and uttaranchal are in Pool H.On the day I tomorrow, Manipur will play against Himachal Pradesh.
In other matches tomorrow, Chhatisgrah will meet Mizoram while Andhra Pradesh will clash with Bihar, Hyderabad with Tripura, Punjab against Delhi and Uttar Pradesh with Nagaland.
The matches will be played in two separate fields in Khuman Lampak main stadium and hockey stadium.
